MID QUARTER CONFERENCES

By now you should have scheduled a time for conferencing with your child’s teacher. The following are some suggestions for making your parent-teacher confernce more meaningful.

-Before you go to the conference talk to your child. Ask your child how things are going at school and if they are having any problems they would like you to talk to the teachers about.

-Listen to what your child’s teacher has to say and help him or her understand your child better.

-Ask for explanations or for examples if you don’t understand what the teacher is trying to say about your child.

-If you need more time to talk to the teacher than what has been scheduled, please ask for another conference time. We are always willing to meet with you again.

-Follow-up at home with praise for those positive things your child has done. Then focus on any areas that need improvement.
